Thinking about purchasing an SUV? Interested in a luxury ride? If so, you might consider the Ford Expedition 2019.

A full-size SUV with ample power and storage capabilities, the Expedition is a terrific vehicle for large families. Looking to learn a little more about the Expedition? Then read on!

The Pros of the 2019 Ford Expedition

Simply put, the Expedition is one of the best full-size SUVs on the market today. As such, it comes with a variety of pros.

In addition to having a strong, consistent, and powerful engine, it also sports great handling capabilities. Characterized by 4-wheel drive, it can thrive through all types of weather conditions.

Another big plus is its ample amount of cargo space. This vehicle is enormous, offering tons of room for both passengers and possessions. As such, it’s great for large and active families.

The Interior

Now lets get into its specifics. We’ll start by describing its interior.

Possessing a high-end design, the Expedition’s interior rivals any in its class. Available with either cloth or leather seats, it’s both stunningly beautiful and terrifically comfortable.

There are three rows of seats in the Expedition. While some models have two seats in the front, two seats in the middle, and three seats in the back, other models have two in the front, three in the middle, and three in the back. Regardless of the model you buy, it will possess LATCH car seat technology.

Where the Expedition truly stands out is in its cargo room. When all seats are upright, it sports 20.9 cubic feet of rear storage. When the back row is folded down, it sports 63.6 cubic feet of rear storage. When the middle and back rows are folded down, it sports 104.6 cubic feet of storage. Simply put, this vehicle offers substantial amounts of storage space.

The Exterior

The exterior of the Expedition is impressive as well, not only in terms of aesthetics but in terms of functionality as well. Compared to many of the other SUVs in its class, it’s a revelation. Characterized by a rounded yet angular body and a sleek yet tough grille, it has a unique and commanding presence.

One of its most useful features is its roof rack. Covering the roof’s full length, this rack can be used to tie down various sorts of cargo, including everything from furniture to exterior storage receptacles and more. Equipped with 4 doors, it allows easy access to all three of its rows.

The Powertrain

Next, we’re going to discuss the Expedition’s powertrain. Stocked with a 3.5-liter V6 engine, it can produce anywhere from 375 to 400 HP. And while it isn’t quite as powerful as its V8 brethren, it’s not exactly lacking in power either; plus, it offers tons of acceleration off the line.

The 2019 Expedition offers both 4-wheel and rear-wheel drive. So, should you ever have to deal with snow or ice, you can kick it into gear and blaze through the conditions with ease.

Curious as to its fuel efficiency? When compared to other full-size SUVs, it’s smack dab in the middle, offering around 24 miles per gallon on the highway and 17 miles per gallon in the city.

Entertainment

As far as entertainment capabilities go, the Expedition is toward the top of the full-size SUV totem pole. Not only is it equipped with 4 USB ports but satellite radio, Bluetooth, and a six-speaker sound system as well.

Whereas its standard trim comes with the SYNC infotainment system, its higher-end trims come with the SYNC 3 infotainment system. The SYNC 3 allows for Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, GPS navigation, and rear-seat movie viewing. Not to mention, a 12-speaker sound system and a WiFi hotspot.

Truthfully speaking, auto entertainment systems don’t get much more sophisticated than this one. It offers all of the features that you could ever want.

Safety

Simply put, the Expedition is an extremely safe automobile. As such, it was given a 5 out of 5 safety rating by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. This included a 5-star rating for its side and front impact capabilities as well as a 4-star rating for its rollover capabilities.

It’s equipped with a number of safety features. These include but aren’t limited to parking sensors, a rearview camera, blind-spot monitoring, lane departure warning, and adaptive cruise control.

In short, the 2019 Expedition is about as safe as a full-size SUV can get. Not only can it withstand physical impact but it also has the features needed to help you avoid it in the first place.

The Warranty

The Expedition comes with a 3-year, 36,000-mile full warranty as well as a 5-year, 60,000-mile powertrain warranty. This is similar or equal to the majority of full-size SUV warranties.

The Cost

The cost of the Expedition is dependent on its trim. Whereas the XLT starts at $52,000, the Limited starts at $63,000 and the Platinum starts at $73,000. With every feature added, the vehicle tops out at around $85,000.

Note, however, that the 2019 Expedition can sometimes be found as a used vehicle. As such, every model you come across will cost a little less than the figures reviewed above.
